Little Cayman is located 81 miles northeast of
Grand Cayman, 480 miles southwest
of Miami, and 90 miles south of Havana.
Discovered in 1503 by Christopher Columbus, this
island paradise is virtually unchanged since the days when pirates
and buccaneers sailed the rich emerald waters that surround our
island shores. While tales of pirates abound, it is likely that
Little Cayman saw few visitors until recent times. As a result,
today we glory in a magnificent underwater world.
Little Cayman, an island of incredible beauty
and unspoiled nature with 21 miles of spectacular coastline, white
beaches and clear turquoise waters, is truly a jewel in the Caribbean.
The incredible coral reefs that hug the island
are a diver's dream and fisherman's fantasy. As one might expect
from one of the top dive locations in the world, breathtaking
underwater wonderlands await you.
Little Cayman is host to a variety of beautiful
exotic tropical plants. Iguanas have the "Right of Way" on our
roads. Bird watchers will be treated to the over 200 part and
full time resident species. Be sure to visit our bird sanctuary, "The
Booby Pond", which is where you will find several thousand resident
Red-Footed Boobies.
